At ISF, coaching and inspiring the next generation of sports coaches and activity leaders is our passion. That’s why we are offering the Learn to Lead programme to children and young people for free, in collaboration with North Lincolnshire Council, the Department of Education and Sports Leaders.
Running from the 3rd to the 6th of April at Baysgarth School and from the 11th to the 14th of April at Frederick Gough School from 10 am to 2 pm, the Learn to Lead programme, aims to build a young person’s skills in sport, activities and sports coaching.
The programme, which offers a Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership, is the first stepping stone in building their passion for sport. As a collaboration with the Holiday and Food programme (HAF), we provide a range of activities and a healthy balanced meal to all participants during the holidays.
Fully assessed with two mandatory units, Learn to Lead is essential to learning strong organisation skills, communication and flexibility. Through physical activity, young people on the course will be supporting their peers and managing young participants in real sports coaching environments.
Based on the Learner Evidence Record (LER), successful participants will complete targeted worksheets assessing skills such as coaching, organisation and proactivity. Throughout the course, they will be assessed on their ability to solve problems and progress as sports leaders, observed by our experienced coaches.
