Elite Youth Sports Secures an Unparalleled Apprentice through First Step Training

“First Step Training was a no brainer, after researching providers that offered apprenticeships specifically in sport we liked the look of First Step Training and the information given by them was just what we needed.”

The Partner

Elite Youth Sports Ltd are a sports coaching company offering a wide range of sports and childcare services to primary schools, parents and children. Elite provide PPA cover, PE coaching, and After-School Clubs to local primary schools across Southern England.

Founded in 2008 by Managing Director, Gareth Tucker, their aim has always been to improve, develop and encourage every child in the Elite family. They are always striving to be the best, and have now become a major competitor within the sports coaching world.

The Challenges

Elite Youth Sports needed to find a candidate with the perfect balance of can-do attitude and ambition. They also needed someone who was willing to put in hard work in order to get them ready for their new role once they complete training, all within an appropriate time frame.

It was especially important they were able to find a reliable training provider during the pandemic because it does not matter how much experience you have, you need a team you can rely on to be responsive, supportive and knowledgeable with the delivery of the course whatever the weather.

“Communication has been great for me as an employer and If I’ve had any questions or just wanted a progress update the tutor has been on hand to provide this. Even throughout Covid we had a small disruption while everyone moved to working from home but that didn’t impede on Molly’s learning at all.”

The Solution

Thanks to the First Step training team, Elite Youth Sports have been able to secure an extremely hard-working apprentice and she has now completed her Level 3 apprenticeship in 1 year. They will go on to sign up two new apprentices in August to complete the new Level 4 Sports Coach. Half way through the next stage of apprentices, they will also look to grow and take on one or two more by Easter 2022.

“Molly has become a valued member of our team, her dedication to complete her apprenticeship has been astounding and we really have nothing but positive things to say about her and her contributions to our growing company. The schools we have placed her in are extremely pleased with her skills, knowledge and communication. We don’t want to lose her so we have offered her a permanent position in the business and look forward to watching her further develop her skills in house.”
