Kids Takeover parent Liz Dyke, describes her experience with us

“The cost is so much cheaper than other childcare providers and with all the activities on offer, it’s an all-round win for the family!”

The Parent

Kids are the best, aren’t they? They have so much energy and can keep us on our toes. As parents, we want them to be able to continue to enjoy themselves even when we’re occupied elsewhere with our work or other duties. We spoke to one of our parents Liz, who has been using us for that exact reason.

Both Liz and her husband work for the NHS and from time to time, their shifts overlap outside of term time. They try to get away during the shorter holidays as a family or sometimes the grandparents are on hand to help. For those occasional cases where they need care, Kids Takeover is there to save the day!

What did they say?

Liz leads a busy life working within the NHS. Every day throws many challenges given the pandemic and the squeeze on healthcare professionals. Kids Takeover activities have always been a winning option for their family and what we offer fits well with their schedule.

Before, during and after the pandemic, Liz spoke about how much she valued Kids Takeover because of how ecstatic her daughter is after every session and that is invaluable to see after a long working day. She said it was a massive help when the sessions were free to key workers, although it’s still worth paying for either way.

Whilst the camps are extremely convenient for the family in terms of both location and price, Liz mentioned how there are so many benefits to be gained. She said the camps are well thought out and ran with a great deal of variety on offer each day. Their daughter loves the activities and really loves making new friends. She especially likes the dancing and the musical theatre side to it because she does drama outside of school. Not to forget, Water Wednesdays are always a major highlight meaning Summer can never come quick enough!

Key highlight for other parents

With so many options for childcare, it can be difficult to know where to go. Liz didn’t need to sign up for a bulk childcare package or pay excessive amounts for a full day of care. She wanted her daughter to attend somewhere during the school holidays from time to time without paying an arm and a leg. Whilst the family love to spend time together and do activities at home with Dad and the dog, sometimes it’s just not possible. Liz said that she would recommend Kids Takeover services to other parents in a similar situation.

“I would recommend Kids Takeover to any parents looking to fill gaps in their holiday time care schedule, whether it’s a whole half term, or just the odd few days”
