Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week: Get active with our PE packages!

At First Step Sports Group, we’re eagerly awaiting Mental Health Awareness Week, with this year’s theme of “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”. From the 13th to the 19th of May, this annual event will focus on tackling the stigma of mental health issues, increasing public understanding and encouraging people to prioritise their wellbeing.

Mental Health Awareness Week has been running since 2001, with millions of people participating each year with themes like loneliness, nature, kindness and body image. The week provides an opportunity for everyone across the UK to fundraise and raise awareness. Organisers are committed to changing government policy that keeps mental health at the centre of the public conversation.

Physical activity plays a crucial role in mental wellbeing, supporting resilience, stress reduction, and mood enhancement. Click here to see how you can get involved this Mental Health Awareness Week.
