This term, First Step Sports Group will be hosting the HAF programme for children in East Riding & North Lincolnshire. As an official provider for the Holiday and Food Programme (HAF), we will be supporting the children in the region with structured play and nutrition during the winter break.

After the successful rollout of the summer programme, we will again be offering a range of sports and dance activities camps for children aged 5 to 12 years old. The camps have been subsidised by the government and will be offered free of charge to children currently in receipt of free school meals.

This December, children will have the choice of 10 scheduled activities per day. We have some of our most popular activities on offer such as our Kids Vs Coach Challenges, as well as Cheerleading, Football and Arts & Crafts. HAF camps have been designed to offer a combination of high-energy engaging activities and nutritious meals during the holidays to alleviate the pressure of finding childcare for parents.

Children will have nutritional workshops and be provided with a free lunch. The workshops were developed to give children ownership over the preparation of meals to encourage them to share their knowledge with their families. With instruction based on The Eatwell Guide, workshops provide a cadre of healthy alternatives to the meals they may see at home.
