Sports Training Partnership with North Lincolnshire Council to give 60 young people the chance to become a Sports Leader

A new partnership with North Lincolnshire Council will provide training to 60 young people across the region to be the next generation of Sport Leaders. The Sport Leader program is a qualification designed to provide young people with an avenue to develop their skills through leadership and physical activity.

Currently, levels 1 through 3 are available in England, with the program being one of the most popular offered across the country. Sixty students across the region will therefore have the opportunity of having a formally recognised qualification in leading and delivering sport and physical activity.

Sessions include “What makes a good leader?”, and “How to effectively work in a team?” and with a variety of discussion, exploration and practical learning, the course is sure to offer a stimulating approach to learning.

Funded by the Humber Outreach Programme and delivered by First Step Training, 60 young people aged 12 to 15, will have the opportunity to train across three venues in North Lincolnshire, free of charge. Courses will be running during the summer holidays, for three weeks, across the following dates:

Brigg Recreation Ground

  • Dates: 26th – 30th July
  • Time: 10:00- 15:00
