Apprentices of all ages hired through the government-funded Apprenticeship service will now be eligible for increased financial support. Chancellor Rishi Sunak, announced earlier this year that the UK government would make twice the finance available for employers who hire a new apprentice. Apprentices are eligible for the £3000 payout if hired between the 1st of April and the 31st of September this year.
The scheme offers an increase on the previous terms for the youngest in our industry; at £1400 per new hire and £2000 per apprentice aged 24 and under. The existing support of £1000, available to employers hiring apprentices aged 16 to 18 and 25 and under, can still be used in conjunction with this funding.
